Strategic Innovation
Why Strategic Innovation?
Everyone is looking for a way to stand out from the crowd and as the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills said in its latest Annual Report "Innovation drives economic growth - it has accounted for 63 per cent of annual labour productivity growth since 2000". Embedding innovation in your organisation is a proven way of differentiating yourself from your competitors and generating growth.
What are the steps to embedding innovation?
Innovation happens naturally within organisations as a result of individual creativity but without a concerted effort these can often be isolated events that are difficult to repeat and make permanent. We take a three step approach to embedding innovation in an organisation.
- Baseline - Making sure that the starting point is well understood so that the impact of developing new capability can be recognised and measured.
- Build Capability - Embedding an innovation framework and providing the necessary skills to those who will use it.
- Manage/Measure - Keeping control of the innovation initiatives that result and regularly measuring progress against the original baseline.
